Woodcote Goes Greener Still

In another new “green” initiative Woodcote High School has taken delivery of a brand new  state-of-the-art biomass  boiler.

The boiler,  which has come all the way from the Czech Republic , is the latest green machine which will keep the school warm for at least the next 25 years!

The fuel for the boiler is wood chippings which are the natural waste products of the timber industry and comes from a forest in Kent. Wood chippings are a totally renewable source of energy and will decrease the school’s reliability of fossil fuels considerably.

In a unique deal the biomass system has been installed by a pension fund as a long term investment in green energy and has not cost the school a penny.  In addition we have been guaranteed fixed cost energy supplies for 25 years at a price which is considerably lower than our present gas costs.

Cheap energy for our students  which won’t cost the earth!!
