The league tables were published last Thursday or the DfE school performance tables as they are officially known. There was much publicity in the news about the reliability of the tables and overall declining standards in the wake of the many changes the Government have made to the accountability measures. At Woodcote we had a lot to celebrate in the tables. We were again amongst the top performing Croydon schools on the headline measure of 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths. When judged on the more academically demanding English Baccalaureate qualification which also includes a modern language, two sciences and a humanity we do even better with 50% of our students achieving this bench-mark, over double the national average!
When we are compared to 55 schools with similar prior attainment across the country we are in 4th place with no statistically better performing school in this group that is within a 75 mile radius of Woodcote High.
Take a look at the table here:
Now that’s something to celebrate!
